power supply may be a problem as @vezina said, cos it's 4 years old

This is the issue here.

In my opinion a true 600W power supply should be ok.Your old PSU is practically at system limit power draw.

But for the future a 750W or 850W PSU would be more suited.

Unfortunately you will need to buy a new PSU ,but not a cheap one.
Until you have the money underclock the CPU to the level the issue goes away..

You could try this one -> http://www.pcgarage.ro/surse/corsair/cmpsu-650tx-v2/
As the store policy allows you to send it back in 10 days you could try it before going for more power.
It should work.

Avoid intertech and ocz as iwhile in the first case you have a doubtful quality, in the second case the capacitors inside are usually cheap ones ,thus shorter life..

I would have to agree with that. It's never worth buying a cheap PSU as it will end up being a false economy. Always better to buy a good quality one in the first place and as well as being safer to run your system it will also last a lot longer. I would recommend a PSU like Seasonic, CWT, Corsair, Thermaltake, Enermax, Gigabyte, Coolermaster, Antec, etc and try and get one with a single 12V rail if possible.

Sorry if I'm intruding in question.

In the past I have had for 3 times very similar problems:
- The first time was the fault of UPS, which turned out to be underpowered compared to the absorption of the PC.
- The second time was the fault of the PSU, which is also at the limit in relation to consumption of the PC graphics card when exploited all its power.
- The last time was caused by an error of the system of suspension/hibernation of Windows.

 ;)

Finally the problem is fixed... as most of you said, it was the PSU. I've replaced it with Corsair CMPSU-TX850M and everything is normal now, no instant shut down or restart, and i even installed windows again so that everything should be perfect.
Thanks a lot for the help guys ;))

Hello
I have an GA-990XA-UD3, AMD FX 8150, 8gb ram 1333 kingston cl7, radeon 5870. So my problem goes like this, every time I want to enter some games or some programs, my computer turns off suddenly. I've tried saints row 3, the darkness II, avast 6 and kaspersky. Each of those 4 titles turn my computer off, and after that I must turn the psu off and on again so that my computer can start over again.
I've tried Battlefield 3 and other titles and everything runs smooth. I would like to ask you, is this a hardware incompatibility problem? My PSU is a zalman zm600-hp 600W 84% eff, and as I was saying bt3 runs perfectly, no overheating no nothing.
I've also updated the bios to F10g thinking that maybe that was the cause but nothing, computer still crashes.
AGESA code must be updated regularly so that new programs can run on amd fx 8150?

Thank you

Hey Gostman you play BF3 cool. We need to play together sometime on a server.

Hey all,  just signed up for the forum as i bought this motherboard after i fried the old one via USB port (my printer shorted while it was plugged in via USB).  I'm running the same  Corsair CMPSU-TX850M PSU with Phenom II 965 BE @ 4.0GHz with dual 470GTX in SLI and have no problems so here are my two cents on that combo.
