I have only just purchased these 2 boards for a test and i hoped for a bigger project anyway both boards nic's seem dead, tested with 2 switches Netgear and a basic TP-Link just to make sure i it was a compatibility issue.

then checked the BIOS, disabled and re-enabled the NIC's enabled PXE to try and boot from LAN still nothing (expected as the switches cannot see them..)
I just want to make sure i am not missing anything before i send them back.. it seems odd thats its not just one board but both!

Anyway any advice would be fantastic if not they go back and i will take my project else where!

Hi and welcome.

As you say it seems incredible that both motherboards would be suffereing from the same malady. First obvious questioon is have you loaded the drivers as they are seperate from the chipset ones ? If so try flashing the BIOS to the latest version using QFlash not @BIOS.

Hi to all,
New to the forum. I too just purchased a 78lmt-s2p motherboard. Network card not funtionning, tried just about everything from new modem/router,  different network from neighbor, new driver, old driver, reinstalled win 7, tried 32 & 64 bits. and even XP.  upgrade to F2 bios but no change. I get a "network not identified, no internet connection". Connection showns only 10 Mb. and some activities, yellow triangle on the modem icon bottom right. I've contacted Gigabyte C.S. but waiting for an answer. Feel pretty sure that the MB is defective. Any idea or solution ?  Thanks. Hardware shows card functionning properly with correct drive (Atheros 2.0.4.4)
