Hello,
I just received my 2 mini display port to HDMI cables and tried connecting 1monitor from DVI, and two otehr monitors with cables from mini display ports to HDMI on monitors.
But looks like I can have only 2 monitors active and no way to activate 3rd?
Any ideas please?
thank you

Hi,

My first idea would be that you are using the wrong cables(adaptors). They have to be active adaptors not passive and if they are not they won't work. I woulkd suggest checking your cables in the first instance.

there is 1 DVI cable, 1 HDMI cable and 3rd is mini display port to HDMI cable. That one is probably not active... but it has to be active even if other displays are not on mini display but on DVI and HDMI?
Btw that wasn't mentioned anywhere at all damn... and I guess that they could provide active converters with such expensive card...
Now I throw money on 2 mini display to HDMI cables... and gotta order new ones.
Looks like there are only mini display to DVI active converters?
damn....
So there is no way to make it work with
1st monitor on DVI
2nd on HDMI and
3rd on non-active mini display to HDMI cable???

Yes you understand me correctly. The third cable must be an active adapter for the display port. It must be on the Display Port. Sapphire sell a reasonably priced one around £18 which is what I am using. Wink

argh this is a bit retarded to tell you truth Sad
check this out

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THPDShduVBY

non OC version comes with 1 active converter... and this OC version doesn't...
now need to order that and wait 15 days again...

you have to admit that they could add at least 1 of these with both models of cards...

GV-R797OC-3GD don't have taht converter and GV-R797D5-3GD-B have it...

DAMN..

thanks for help mate

You are very welcome. I wouldn't wait for the other card just buy an active adaptor and you can be using it now.

I couldn't disagree with you there and as with most of this type of thing it wouldn't cost the manufacturer very much at all for these little extras as they woluld be buying them in such quantities.

Oh btw, with two active adapters there shouldn't be any problems attaching 4 monitors right?
Just not to get another nasty surprise Smiley

It is possible to attach up to 6 monitors in total (five is not possible) as long as the Display port is used with the proper adaptors.
