Friday

Lads who arrived early on Friday had a chance to catch up and chat and drink a cup of tea together - think someone ordered tea :thumb:

Nope not him, ever :D

Here we all are setting up the venue after a few beers, Daulist kindly offers his face as support. Just in case the lady fell of course :p

The stuff ...   ooo so shiny.

Same stuff just different photo, 48 pages of notes on the table ready for the course. Not sure anyone has read them yet ;)

Our Room with a view

Early in the morning waiting for the event to start. Still two groups - old hands and the new guys, that did not last very long:thumb:

Hehe ... I don't mind a test bring it on I say.

Thank heavens the lecture is over and we can tuck into the cool stuff. Pass the eraser.

Graham "Thank **** I don't have to do the course"

Blindfitter  "There was a course?  No way there is only PCMark05."

I never want to go back to base, never....

Running the show the boss dude and dudette

Winner best Tee Shirt of the event

No Dave say it ain't so ... don't go the LN2 route that is the way of evil.  Borandi trying to wrench the Dewar away from Blindfitter to stop him going over to the dark side.

Go away I am busy

What you mean am I benching today?

Sunday

So peaceful

Ross the Landlord of the pub filling the coffee machine. These guys really looked after us. :thumb:

What new guys?   Now we are all just benchers...

Man this beats mowing the lawn.

I get 165K 3Dmark05 and you buy me dinner yes?

This is how you enjoy benching with mates.

Stressed what us, nah Livestream will happen. No really it will. :D

Kenny smelling his finger.   Anyone seen the monkey????

50l of LN2 is not a problem for super Claire.

You said it would happen dammit, Where is my livestream?

See I told you I was going to bench.

And last but not least.
Awards and final wrap.

Coolest outfit of the day. And future fashion trend.

Most dedicated bencher I have ever seen. Winner of the OCN award for excellence.

Man I am exhausted from the contest

Our winner of the contest. Driftingforlife, being presented a Motherboard by Andrew official Gigabyte representative who flew over from Europe especially to attend. Sick as a dog but not a word of complaint from him. Cheers to you and cheers to Gigabyte for their outstanding support of what we are trying to achieve in the UK.

What do you mean there is more. Tom from Aria PC handing over some cool neon DDR3 ram to our winner from Team Monkey

Ok folks, a few pics from the weekend:
Dagmar gives the "noobs" a rundown on what to do.

The first thing is "I drink Abbot" and don't forget it :D

Dave (Blindfitter) giving 3D Mark 06 a good seeing to.

Unkie Dave (Dualist) getting in position for some more "Lube" :D

The "noobs" finally discover the beer is to be kept in the glass or bottle, not the flask :)

Yes, everybody that attended this event did have a really enjoyable time and to add my little bit, here are a couple of pictures that I took.

Preparing the motherboard to take the pot for the LN2 was a challenge but plenty of eraser and overcoming the fear of what we were actually doing to the motherboard bought forth some good results. Here the pot is being offered up so that we can check it will still make contact with the CPU. Some more insulation is needed but nearly there now.

Everything is now up and running and with the aid of some LN2, (strange to see the pot smoking like that!) to keep things cool, we can start installing the OS.

Sunday presented a new challenge. Not only were we running LN2 on the processor but we also had to prepare the graphics card too. Once up and running both pots had to be topped up with LN2 which was quite a challenge, especially when we started pushing things to see what speeds we could get.

Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.
