If you are an excellent value, quality factor, and any more than you look on the motherboard of gigabytes are supported by a team will be looking for a motherboard. I use the machine and has been a great success with the Gigabyte motherboard. A 20-year track record of high quality, are more than up to the new motherboard. Recently, they added to its line card of high value-added products. High quality products with the same top-end motherboards, but now the capability to reach.

I am pleased that GigaByte is starting to roll out true UEFI (not just hybrid UEFI) on certain existing motherboards.  Great news!  But in searching this site, I am frustrated to find that nearly all discussions related to UEFI are found under the "Motherboards with Intel processors" discussion area.

Have I missed something? Does GigaByte offer true UEFI (not hybrid UEFI) for any AM3+ socket motherboards?

Will UEFI be offered for any currently available AM3+ socket motherboards in the near future?  Or will the UEFI feature be reserved for newly-released AMD motherboards?

I'll just note that I will be purchasing a motherboard with an AMD 990FX chipset in the near future.  I'd buy a GigaByte now (as in immediately) if I thought that UEFI would be available as an upgrade within the next three months or so.  But if not, looks like I'll have to go with a competitor.

AMD users need love too!

Hi

I am fairly sure that all of the newer motherboards will be covered by the UEFI upgrade but possibly not the older ones that will reach EOL sooner. I would suggest that you contact GGTS and ask if a particular motherboard will be updated if there is one that you are considering.

Thanks much for the reply.  As you suggested, I wrote to GGTS.  Hopefully they'll respond back with news regarding whether GA-990FXA-UD3 will be among those motherboards receiving UEFI.

Thanks again!

The links were fixed soon after I called tech support and mentioned it.

The new bios is working great and boot times seem a little faster. hehe
