strange.

To me it basically happened whenever I did something that required an intense use of the videocard.
Without that, the error was random and could happen browsing web, or with anything else.
With the method I mentioned in my previous post instead I was able to generate the freeze/error with a 100% accuracy.

Of course all of this didn't happen in PCIE 2.0, 1.1 etc.

The thing that worry me is Gigabyte silence.
There is an issue, we know its cause, there are a lot of people with the problem. Can it be fixed by a bios update? Or do I have to trash a 400€ card? I'm not going to RMA it with the risk to get another card with the same problem.
One thing is for sure: if there won't be a bios release fixing the problem, I'm not going to buy gigabyte cards anymore. Cry

Is there a way we can catch the attention of a Gigabyte moderator?

I opened a ticket but looks like they are not aware of this problem. They just keep telling me useless stuff like trying something I already did 100 times, and trying it on a different system, which I did, confirming the fact that the card can't work on 3.0.
But again, they don't look like they know what I'm talking about, so I don't want to spend more money to RMA a card just to get another one with the same issue. I better buy another one from asus, but you know this is not going to make me happy.

Yeah I opened a ticket too and they replied the same stuff like trying different drivers etc blah blah
Because, you know, I totally didn't try that before opening a ticket, right?  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

This issue affects only a small minority of videocards and atm we're really skeptic that a bios update can currently solve the issue.
If you don't have the problem you shouldn't really worry about it Smiley

There is nothing you can do now even if your card is one of the faulty ones. There is no currently known cause of the issue and there is no currently solution to it.

If you wanna know if your card is affected by the problem or not, just try it on a friend's PC who has an Ivy Bridge installed, in 3.0 mode.
