Hi

I've got a home automation/CCTV system built around a GA-G31-ES2L motherboard and I've come to the point of  needing a few more expansion slots.

Looking on the Gigabyte website, the GA-G31-S3L seems to fit the bill perfectly as it appears to be exactly the same board as I have with some more slots. If I could get one of these then I wouldn't have to upgrade anything else, and I know that the existing hardware/cards I have would probably be compatible with it.

However.....I understand that the S3L board is now a bit old and the chances of buying a new one are pretty slim, but after some extensive Googling not only does it look like no one ever sold them, but there isn't even a mention of someone owning one never mind a review??

This motherboard seems to be ultra-rare. Was it every actually released to the public? Am I wasting my time looking for one?

Best regards

Andy

Hello

I really doubt whether you will find one of these motherboards for sale now unless it is in a small shop that has some old stock. It is a bit long in the tooth I'm afraid. You will need to find something with a slightly more modern chipset.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

As I said, I know the board is getting on a bit. but I was more or less curious as to why there is absolutely nothing on the internet about it. No Owners with questions, no reviews, none for sale on flea-bay...nothing that I can find.

Thanks

Sometimes a motherboard will not sell many compared to the norm and will often reach EOL fairly quickly especially if the chipset manufacturer, AMD or Intel, has something new in the pipeline already.
