on a cold start my z77x-ud5h will sound a long beep then the post beep. on restarts this does not happen. the system boots normally and quickly into windows 7. the bios is at f8, and I've done no overclocking as yet. I have 16gb ripjaws 1600 ram. I have not yet decided on a gpu, so none are installed. I've tested the ram all is ok there.

if memory serves, one long beep before the post code is a video card error.

anyone with an idea what is causing this?

thanks in advance
