Motherboard Help please

Hi I have been trying to speed up my bios post screen start up but its currently taking 15 seconds then another 10 seconds to boot then like 10 seconds just from the ssd so it goes to overall 40 seconds to boot and I wanting to know if I can reduce the 15 seconds ?

Its in AHCI got the SSD installed The Bios is updated to F7 It is a Z68XP-UD3P Motherboard Rev 1.0

Any help anyone ?

Hi and welcome.

I am sure that you can at least shave a bit of time off the start sequence. Obviously disable anything that you don't require in the BIOS. You can also disable the Gigabyte post screen as this also allows you to see what is happening. Just by doing that sort of thing should help a fair bit.

I have Put the post screen on but it doesnt make a difference :S

The Gigabyte screen should be disabled. There are many other items that can be disabled saving you time on booting but it depends on the system. Every one is different. You will just have to go through one line at a time in the BIOS and decide which are needed and which are not. You know better than anybody else what is in your build and what it is going to be used for.

I have just sorted out my new setup and have now got it to time to logon is 4 seconds and time to desktop is 9 seconds. There is a nice little freeware program that will help you keep tabs on the time taken. It is called BootRacer and the latest version is 3.80 (apparently there is a beta version 4.00 just out) and is free for personal use.
