My system is: ga ex58-ud5 v1 mobo (f13 bios) , 2x4GB 1600MHz DDR3, i7 920@ stock, amd 5850 gfx. Few days ago there was a lightning strike with a spike which passed through the phone line (the pc is on a surge protector) and burned the router and one of the onboard nics. The 2nd nic is functioning normally. Because I wanted to have a second nic I installed a tp-link TG-3468 (realtek chipset) pci-e (1x) gigabit nic.
Since then, whenever I restart through windows 7 , I get this "power cycle bug": The system shuts down and boots with the message "The system has experienced boot failures because of overclocking or changes of voltages. last settings in this page does not coincide with current H/W settings." (CPU 2.8GHz, FSB 133MHz, DDR3 1066MHz). I tried to set the ram@ 1066MHz but the result is the same. If I take the pci-e lan card out there are no issues.
I also tried to boot into puppy linux (usb flash). Then the reboot occurs normally.
Can somebody help?
