H61M-D2-B3 SATA Problems - I think!
« on: October 29, 2012, 05:17:23 pm »
Hi Everyone - this is my first posting here so be gentle. I have been having problems with my machine

6 Series H61M-D2-B3
Intel i3
8g Memory

All worked fine for many months but began to hang and freeze.

I have done four new windows 7 Home Premium installs. The problem came back each time.

Following the latest failure I have reassembled the whole machine. Now when I start it up the bios is seeing both optic and HDD. However W7 is not seeing any drives and is giving an error message that 'no operating system found. I have configured the bios every way and which but cannot get past the W7 setup stating no operating system found.

I have swapped out the optical drive, HDD all SATA cables. Removed the motherboard battery so the bios is back to where it started, but no luck.
Its like the it needs SATA drivers before it will recognize they are there.

I am now thinking that its the motherboard which is 13 months old. Would/could I re flash the bios make any difference.

I would appreciate any help with this very trying problem.

Press the F12 during startup and it should bring up a menu to choose which drive to boot from.
