If he waits till people post on newegg that they are getting rev 1.1 then that means there is more of a chance that they have ran out of rev 1.
If he gets a rev 1.1 and gigabyte support in usa hasnt gotten any and say his board goes out 3 months later and they still havent gotten any then they will send him a rev 1 back for the rma.
There are only 5 reviews in the last two months on newegg and not one of them have posted what revision they have gotten.
Last review to mention revison was 8/11
Now for the end of it i am here to help original poster get the help he asked for period and to offer the best advice to him in his situation.
And i did also mention newegg would let him return it if he wanted to try it and he got a rev 1.
