Hi,
I'm hoping someone can offer me some advice. I have a GA-880GM-USB3 REV. 1.0 motherboard with an AMD 1090T Phenom II x6 processor and I'm trying to get my system up to 16Gig and working stable. I don't OC my system, but I'm having difficulty finding the right memory that will work in my system stably. Currently I can install up to 8Gig 9-9-9-24 , 4x2Gig with no issues. No BSOD, etc... However, when I install 16Gig, I get the random BSOD, applications will begin failing, processes will fail, etc...
I've tried a few sets of RAM, but no luck. All were 4x4Gig sets. Gigabyte never released an update for the BIOS, so there doesn't appear to be any way to fix my issue that way.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this system up to 16Gig? Memory types and model would be good. The memory selectors on most of the supplier sites don't seem to be geared to providing working memory, just stuff that is the most expensive. I don't mind spending a little extra, it just has to work.
If I can't get my system RAM up, I may have to get a new setup. I do alot of work from home using virtual machines, so RAM and cores are important.
Thanks,
