Kingston Hyper X With a GA-P35-S3G Board?

Hi,
Just got this Kingston RAM KHX8500D2K2/4G. Was told that I would need to change the BIOS settings, NO, Problem I thought!

BUT, When I changed the Tras/Cas etc settings to the 5/5/5/15 and changed Voltage to +0.4 (making it 2.2v) I thought that should be it. It still boots as 800Mhz NOT 1066 and the Mobo says that it can run 1066 RAM. I've tried Kingston's Tech guys and forum too but Hope someone in either here or there has the answer to this.

I can increase FSB to get my E6600 at 3.5Ghz and RAM to 1068 BUT it still says it's running at 800Mhz. I can only see 2Gb too, was told that with XP Hme 32Bit I would loose probably 1Gb BUT to loose 2 GB AND have it run at 800Mhz it's a bit frustrating

Hope someone can help??

32bit = 4GB - GPU RAM - On board RAM - BIOS size = Total accessible RAM
e.g. 4GB - 2GB GPU - 64MB soundcard - 600k = ~1.98GB TOTAL

To make it run 1066 you go into the BIOS, go into the tweaking section and change the memory divider to 2.66 (I think) or until it adjusts to 1066.

I have already set the BIOS to the SET Voltages AND Timings,
CAS Latency - 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay - 5
DRAM RAS# Precharge - 5
Precharge Delay - 15

DDR2 Overvoltage Control - +0.4v
Hope there's another reason I can't get 1066MHZ?

Did you manually enter the speed of the ram though? 1066Mhz is not a default for any motherboard, and the maximum default will be 800Mhz, any faster ram you have to enable a X.M.P. or something similar, or enter the settings manually, including the speed either with the FSB:DRAM or by typing in a frequency depending on the BIOS.

If you set it all correctly, you should be able to boot. If it still says 800Mhz, it may have become unstable and failed post (such as if the startup took very long and heard some clicking sounds before a display would appear). Try updating the BIOS, and if you manage to boot at 1066Mhz run memtest to make sure it is stable.

Just gone back and looked again at it after changing the System Memory Multiplyer to 4.0~ and that's changed to 1066 then gone back to windows and look after having more sleep and it says 533Mhz which I take means 1066Mhz.

I'm currently on Morphine for kidney so not all there. Haven't slept well last couple of nights. But done well this morning so NOW, I realise I don't have a problem. Very sorry, once I change the Memory Multiplyer it all came good.

533Mhz is correct, (DDR means double data rate so you double it )
