Can I use my G.Skill RAM in this Mobo?

I am thinking about buying the Gigabyte F2A85X-UP4 for my new 'puter......I had already bought this DDR RAM:  G.Skil16GB (2x8MB) 1866; F3-1866C10D-16GAB which is great with Intel boards.  I go to the Gigabyte mobo site and the above RAM is NOT on their compatible list for that mobo......but I know that that does not mean it is not compatible [just not tested by them].  It says at the G.Skill site describing this RAM that it is compatible with AMD AM3/FM1 APU - - - as you probably know this Gig. board is FM2  or F2.?

Can someone please tell me whether I need to stay with Intel to use this RAM...or.....do you think it compatible with the Gig. board??

I think you are safe mike. On the board i own my ram isnt listed and when i bought the ram it said made for intel boards but to tell you the truth after much research i found others using the ram with amd chips so i gave it a go. Has worked great for the last year all i had to do was set timing manually in bios.

Your board handles that speed and that size so you should be good to go.

I just read on another site, I believe, that this person was using the very Gig. board I want to buy with the same RAM that I bought EXCEPT [only difference] the very last numbers were "16GSR" instead of "16GAB". 

IF it did not work I guess I could sell it - but - I'd be "stranded" with an unuseable 'puter for awhile..........YIKES!!!!!!!

You shouldnt have a problem once gigabyte releases the first version of board and post the first list they rarely ever update it. Have faith.
