FX-4100 temp on 78lmt-s2p
« on: December 08, 2012, 08:49:54 pm »
Hi,

I am having temperature reading issue with coretemp and all other monitoring soft. They show me 9c as idle temp. So i install Easytune6. At first it shows 9c too, but now its reasonable. 22c and 40c on full load. It that temp is okay with easytune6? I am using CM hyper 212+ cpu cooler(dual fan).

Also, is bios temp is accurate? bios shows 28c. Though bios always mismatch with coretemp.

My system config:
CPU: FX-4100
Mobo:78LMT-S2P
Ram: 2x4gb ddr3-1333
GPU: HD6770
PSU: TR2-RX 450w
CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212plus
OS: Windows 8 pro

Thanks

Many monitoring programs cant be trusted IMO, try aida. Also, if you go into the bios and set the alarm for say 50C you can be sure you're safe. Make sure you have bios version F4 or later.

AIDA not even showing any temp reading. I am willing to overclock and need a good monitoring soft. I am not sure what is the problem. My cpu has a broken sensor/mobo unsupported/soft are not compatible.

I have the latest bios. I am willing to upgrade my mobo to 970 chip. But then I see many has same problem with fx-4100 + 970 in the web. So I am thinking a cpu RMA. Now I don't know what to do exactly.  :-\

I check with amd overdrive, its 22c-24c as idle. I think other soft are not working. But another problem is my turbo core is not working any more and power saving mode also. Cpu don't reduce clock speed when idle and core not boosted to 3.8ghz. Cool n quite is enable in bios.

If you're going to overclock the chip you'll want to disable cool n quiet and that anyway. From what I understand about your motherboard it's not a 'true' AM3 board. I believe I'm right in saying it's just an AM3 board with the socket swapped out to accommodate the AM3+ cpus. You've already indicated that you are willing to upgrade your motherboard, I'm feeling that's the way you should go.
