P55-US3L and 1.65v ram
« on: January 04, 2010, 10:00:11 am »
SIMPLY, is it safe to run ram at 1.65volts on this motherboard all the documentation that comes with it indicates 1.5v as the max and yet ram on the support list and many of them are clearly 1.65v varients. As soon as i enable xmp profiles it ups my ddr1600 ram to 1.65v.
i have already manualy set the ram to function at 9.9.9.24 at 1.5v ddr1333 speeds and disable xmp profiles altogether BUT every time the pc wakes from sleep to record tv the ram timings are all over the place 4.10.9.24 1T and its not happy.

to recap 1.65v long term safe? y or n                     thanks :)

I guess the gigabyte forums isn't the place to come for gigabyte  product support.      LOL

if ram you use is designed for 1.65v then no problem, as this mobo can read spd from ram (after you set xmp in the bios to profile) and set accordingly

p.s. this place is just a community where gigabyte users (sometimes gigabyte staff) try to help each other. if you want direct support from gigabyte try http://www.gigabyte.com/Support/ServiceCenter.aspx
