Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion vs Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Mobo

Still trying to keep this ol' boy from the bin, was working great for 6/7 years then I had to upgrade the mobo.

Now have a Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H 1xPCI slot and getting no joy.

Tried changing the PCI Rom from EFi Compatability to Legacy in BIOS (I realise this probably has nothing to do with it) but no luck.

Card is recognised as being there but not a peep out of it.

Ideas???

I just wanted to add that the mobo sound has been turned off in bios.

XP 32bit

tried genuine creative drivers and PAX Drivers also. Have seen other people experience similar problems.
