Z77X-UP7 - RAM question.

Z77X-UP7 - RAM question.
« on: February 06, 2013, 01:31:19 pm »
Hello,

I am very much considering buying a Z77X-UP7, I've been in love with it since I first saw it.
My main question before doing so though is regarding RAM, I've looked at G.Skill Ares F3-1333C9Q-16GAO (http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=473) though under qualifying boards the UP7 is not listed.
The  F3-2133C11Q-16GAO (http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=491) shows the UP7 which is good though (with my limited understanding of RAM) I'm under the impression (based on the timings) this is slightly slower than the first I posted, no?
Please correct me if I'm wrong (that is why I'm posting ;))

Anyway back to the question, if in fact the second RAM I list is worse then would the first RAM be suitable with the Z77X-UP7? Or is the second actually better?

Any other suggestions on decent  RAM would be appreciated.
On a side note, I'm also looking for the colour (if anyone knows of orange ram heat sinks then that obviously broadens my search base).

Thank you for reading, sorry if my question seems a little silly but my RAM knowledge goes about as far as how to plug it in ;)

2133 runs fater than 1333.
however the default of memory will be 1333.
if you use 2133 memory, you need to manually set your memory to run 2133. if your 2133 memory has XMP, you can enable xmp profile to run as 2133.
between 1333 and 2133 memory speed, there are 1600 and 1866.

From what I've read the memory does has an xmp profile so that should be alright then. Thank you for your feedback
