x58a-ud3r rev 2 -Intermittent Screen Black Outs.
« on: February 07, 2013, 11:53:25 am »
I'm experiencing intermittent screen blacks out, typically I have a functioning display for 7-10 seconds then it blacks out for 3-4 seconds, it repeats this cycle indefinitely with the frequency and durations of black outs varying.

The problem only occurs at boot up, in the bios settings, and up until the Win7 splash screen, once windows is up and running all's fine, however if the gpu drivers aren't up to date, the black outs remain whilst windows is running.

I've had this problem since owning the PC (Oct 2010), purchased from scan as an overclocked build.  The overclock has long since been removed and the bios restored to optimized defaults.

The monitor has been tested on a laptop via VGA without exhibiting the problem.  I use HDMI for the PC.

Bios: Fc1 09/09/2010
GPU: Palit GT 430 (Driver 310.90)
Monitor: HP LP2475w
SSD: Crucial c300 64gb
CPU: i7 950
Ram: 6gb corsair tr3x6g1600c9
Win 7 64bit
PSU: Enermax Pro87+ 500w

Thanks for taking a look.

Have you tried the latest BIOS for your motherboard which is FH?
