Problem with 890fxa-ud5 and Rams
« on: February 23, 2013, 11:53:11 pm »
Hi everyone i had a problem with my rams i have 4 rams/4GB each G.skill 1600mhz when i run 4 of them together i get blue screens while gaming so i ran memtest86 and it detected erros so i ran memtest86 again but on each ram on its own and here is the problem 2 of the 4 slots in the motherboard read the ram on memtest86 like this '' 800mhz (DDR3 1600) '' while the other 2 slots read it like this '' 200mhz (DDR3 400)'' so first i though it was a ram problem bt turned out the rams are fine and i can't figure out the problem so i msged '' absic '' with the problem and he was so kind and answered back so fast but i can't figure out the solution cause i am a little noob about these stuff so here is what he said '' if you have been running your RAM at 1600MHz with the 1090T then I would say it is probably the memory controller in the CPU that is the problem rather than the motherboard ''

absic is right Why are you in doubt ?!

If the sticks are double sided most probable they will not run all 4 at 1600 Mhz.It s a memory controller limitation.
Also they should be the same model and revision and paired from the factory to run with no error.

You should swap the components for know good ones if you want more troubleshooting.
Test the CPU in another mobo ,test the ram in other working mobo and so on.

Those 4 modules could run all at 1333 Mhz most probable ,if you set them manually.

I am not in doubt not at all i tried running 1 ram at a time still 2 slots reads as 200mhz DDR 400 even when i changed the memory clock to 1333mhz if there is another way around it please feel free to tell me how.

Swap CPU in another mobo and see if it does the same with the same RAM.
Make sure you use latest BIOS.
