UEFI flash z68x UD3H-B3 rev 1.3
« on: March 04, 2013, 02:42:06 pm »
Hello

I've dl uefi bios for my MB, made bootable USB, Flashing started ok...at the end it said pls. shutdown, unplug and replug. I've did that, but after that, problems. I can't get to bios! After clr. CMOS i got that msg. saying load defalut, optim. etc. and I've tryed all 3 of them..still no luck enterning bios. After multiple rebots I can enter my win 7 64 bit. in some weird way (trought paragon software on other hdd which doesnt eaven have win on it.) Anyway when I enter win 7 it starts to instaling drivers for some of my devices, just like flashing bios went ok. After I've spend few hours googling I find tutorial how to revert from uefi to award..dl all apps...run cdm and flash back to award...all went fine, and all were done trought win...Restart award bios was there.

My question is why I cant flash bios to UEFI?
ps
befor flashing to UEFI i've removed all GA soft. except @bios...also I've load optim. settings in bios.
Could it be that my optim. settings in bios push my intel 2500k on auto, so intel OC himself a bit?

soz for my eng.

You don't have to boot to you flash drive. You should be able to flash right from the bios. just put your update on a flash drive.

In the bios on mine you hit F8 that should bring you into the flash screen. Plus why are flashing your bios you having a problem.

Or because the update is there and you feel that you need to update no matter what. Plus I find on the newer mother boards

You really have to watch the keyboard. Once you see the 3 little lights flash start hitting DEL key.

I've flash bios as GA tutorial said, and flashing went ok. About lights flashing, no matter how much I wait, I can't get to bios. Sometimes boot stops at uefi post screen, somtimes I get to bios blue screen but nothing there, only blue screen and mouse icon frozen on middle of it.

Award bios is ok, but I want to try UEFI :D

I went and read about your bios. Do you have the f12 bios?

The reason you had to re-install drivers was because that is a complete different bios.

You might even have to reactivate some of you software too.

That is like taking your HD and putting into another computer.

Solved

This time i've formated my usb with slowformat and flash it from backpanel usb port (before I've used front panel). One of those 2 solved my problem.
