I've upgraded my X58A-UD3R to Windows 8 pro and I had installed a Rocket 640L card to give me 4 SATA III Ports which were running very well in Windows 8 Pro.
When I tried to enable the Hyper-V feature in Windows 8 Pro the X58A-UD3R would reboot and lockup after POST as Windows 8 Pro was loading.
When I removed the Rocket 640L PCIe card I could enable the Hyper-V feature without any issue with my OS Drive attached to a GSATA III port (Marvell 9128).
The problem is the Marvell 9128 isn't GSATA III Port isn't much faster than a Intel SATA II connection (if at all faster) and I really like the speed I was getting from the Rocket 640L and with 12GB of RAM I was really wanting Hyper-V on my X58. (I want it all!)
Should I disable the 9128 and try the 640L again? => assuming the 9128 on the board is conflicting with the 640L
Any other experiences people are having with the X58A-UD3R and Windows 8 Pro that you could share? Suggestions?
Thank you.
