GA-EP45-DS4 with OCZ memory

GA-EP45-DS4 with OCZ memory
« on: March 24, 2013, 01:12:42 pm »
Hi
i have problems with my GA-EP45-DS4 motherboard and  ddr2 ram 2x2GB by OCZ (for which i already ask for problem in OCZ support
http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread.php?109872-GA-EP45-DS4-with-OCZ2P10664GK-4GB )
whenever i change some settings in BIOS and save, BIOS won't startup immediately and normally, no matter settings are default by BIOS or customized
restarts itself for several times and then IF want to boot win7 system
if win7 booted normal it works some time but i have random BSODs, let say one a week, bug check code 0x109
i assume that maybe my motherboard dont like this memory by OCZ, BIOS can't recognise exact timings from SPD of RAM or something similar
but problem definitely exist and i think is not with any other hardware then motherboard or memory

if anyone could help here, please?

ps. see photos from thread on OCZ forum

system is

MB Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4 (Award Bios, last ver F10b)
 RAM OCZ2P10664GK 2x2GB
 CPU Core2Duo E8500
 PSU LC Power 600W

no matter graphic card as i tried two of them

Let the mother board set the timing to default. Has this been here from day one or did it just start happening.

Yes it could be memory or it could be a driver problem too. The BSOD isn't always memory.

from the first day there is problem with random BSODs, with default settings (optimised defaults) from BIOS
but timings set by default are not same with memory specifications by manufacturer
http://postimg.org/image/wdvrrruop/
default voltage for RAm in BIOS is 1.8V but memory need 2.2V according to OCZ specification
memory is tested several times in Memtest software, never with errors

Yes the 1.8 is a default setting for the volts on that memory. But what I would do make sure the volts is right and make sure that the speed is right at 1066. Other than that I would leave everything else a lone.

it is definitely problem with RAM, tried on my friend pc, asus motherboard with default settings
BSODs immediately when win7 startup
thanks for your replies!
