GA-Z77-DS3H Motherboard - Front Panel Cable Colours/PIN locations

Hello,

I am currently upgrading my PC including a Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H Intel Z77
Socket 1155 Motherboard recently purchased in the U.K..

I am somewhat confused as to which cables go where in respect of the front
panel connector, i.e. power LED, HDD Led etc as the colours of my existing
cables are different to those depicted in the Gigabyte user manual. I
appreciate that this is due to the age of my existing tower.

My question is simply, irrespective of where the front panel connector is
located on the motherboard, will the pins for each 'function' always be in
the same place on every motherboard? For example, say the Power- pin is on
the far right of the connector block looking from the front on a Gigabyte
motherboard, will it be in the same place here and on a motherboard from
another manufacturer?

Does a website exist which will allow me to compare the cable colours of my
front panel 'functions' against another manufacturer? Is there an industry
'standard' for the colours of these cables?

Thank you in anticipation of your assistance.

Regards.

Yes most of the times about 90% they are the same.

Front panel header if you are looking at:

1. Green is for reset
2. Red is for power
3. Blue is for HDD
4. Pink is for power led
5. Orange is for system speaker

If all the wires come from the front panel have a common color wire like white or black.

When you are looking at the header the common wire goes to the right. on all the connection.

To make sure what each wire is for trace them back to the front panel to make sure you have the right ones plug in.
