GA-X58A-UD7 IDE (SATA) channels help with best config in the BIOS

Hi Experts,

I wonder how to connect my DVD Players and my HDDs

IDE Channel 0 Master WD HDD1 Win XP Pro
IDE Channel 0 Slave   WD HDD2 Win XP Pro
IDE Channel 1 Master DVD Player
IDE Channel 2 Master Blu-ray Player

I want to know if this configuration will work for
Boot with WD HDD1 and move files to WD HDD2
I dont understand why IDE Channel 2 is EXTENDED IDE DRIVE

If not how to?

Any advice, suggestion or help is more than welcome

TIA

That is about right and just go into the bios. In the Advanced Bois Features in there under Hard Disk Boot Priority.

Make sure that HDD1 is the first boot. Everything else will just fall into place.

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you. It really doesn't matter what it is say in there. As long as everything is being pickup by the bios and it is working.

That has been in the bios for years and it is mostly there for older drives. As you go to newer boards with UEFI bios they have taken that out.

Like I said as long as everything is working don't worry about it. You can research it on line about that. The last time I look at that was about 15yrs ago.
