hi, do you know if GA-P35-DS4 (rev. 2.0) (BIOS updated to F14) can work with new GPUs and PCI-E 2.1 or 3.0 technology?

for example: new GEFORCE GTX 660 would be ok, would be bootnecked or could not work at all?

Yes is compatible, the graphics card are functionnal... but he have not use a speed for pci-e 3.0 or 2.0

The speed are slow because use PCI-E 1  ... but the difference are not visible...

If you have a new graphics card on P35-DS4 ... is good .... you discover a ''really boost'' in Monitor ...

What is your CPU? If you have E6600 ... ok .... but if you have E8400 .... this is better....

I have a projet to purchase HD Radeon PCI-E 3 on P35-DQ6...

my CPU is : Core 2 Quad Q6400 2,13 GHz (or Core 2 Quad Q6600 2,4 GHz, not sure because I can't use my PC without a GPU), 4GB ram
someone suggested me to overclock CPU to 2.8 or 3, this could get my PC hotter even when CPU is at normal load or idle?

do you think my UPS enermax liberty 620, is ok?

Hi again,

Cpu is ok... good idea to overclock ... like 3.4 if you are able....
Me with a E600 , I have in the past time 3.8Ghz... without problem....

But have you a heat sink Intel stock or other brand?

About PSU...  enermax liberty 620

I have check your model... but I am not sure .... What is your exact model....

Probably is okay , but ... verify all cable PCI-E 6pins or 8 pins for graphics card.... The number of cable are... ???

Because graphic card need a cable PCI-E 6pins x1 or x2  or 8pins x1 or x2... so check....

But if you do not have all cables PCI-E  ... he exist a PCI-E adaptor cable... to connect on 12v ATX cable....

I use the stock heat sink Intel, that’s why I don’t want to overclock it too much

I don’t yet know what card to buy, I was waiting for feedback about motherboard compatibility, so you really helped
Right now I don’t play, but I will do it soon, so I could buy a cheap or used one and upgrade it in the future, but I think it’s better to buy a new (energy efficient) good one so I can enjoy it even for not games applications such as watch HD movies

Ok I view a link about CPU Intel Stock.
So for overclocking... go to 3.2Ghz... is okay for beginning.

I suggest a graphic card Sapphire ... for HD Radeon... if you want ...

I ordered Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Windforce OC, 170€: very good for power efficiency especially for blue ray playback and dual monitor, low temperature and low noise, it seems even that 660 is better than 7870 for Assassins Creed
