GA-880GA-UD3H Rev 3.1 and Samsung 848 SSD
« on: June 14, 2013, 09:28:51 pm »
I replaced the standard HD with a Samsung 840 series SSD but am unable to get the SATA3 ports to work at 6Gh. The Bios has been set to ACHI. The samsung utility indicates that i am not operating at 6Gh. With WIN 7 already installed now can the AMD 850 controller drivers be up graded so as to operate at 6Ghz? Some info in a read me file indicate the driver can be updated via the Device manager.  The ? is how ????????

Take a look here for drivers ->  http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/raid_windows.aspx
There are older ones too if this ones don t work.

Just download "AMD Chipset Drivers" and run the .exe

There may be some BIOS issues/incompatibility with the drive
