Bios Problem

Im using Gigabyte 990Fxa UD3 rev 4.0 bios ver. F2 ,memory is Kingston Hyper X beast 1600 mhz CL9 1.65  8GB 2x4 GB Sticks ,Cpu is Fx 8350 @4300 mhz ,graphics 7870 2 gb Oc edition SSd now V300 240 gb system ,power Corsair GS 600W . My question is why does my bios doesnt want to see my memory that is installed in 1st slot And in 2nd slot dualchannel ,according to bios ram are in 2nd and 4th slot why is that and how do i fix it .

Move it till bios says it is in right slots.

At one time on AMD boards memory was always the first two slot from the CPU. But on newer boards like your board the memory should be in the Gray slots.

Gray slots are 1 & 2 and the Black slots are 3 & 4. Yes the computer will boot with them in 3 & 4 buy they should really be in 1 & 2.

If you put the memory in slots 3 & 4 it will show as slots 1 & 2. My board does the same thing I have 990Fxa UD5 rev 3.0 board.

I don't know if the memory controllers are backwards or the bios reads it backwards. I have never notice till you posted.

I don't worry about the little things like this if the computer is reading the memory at the right speed and it is running OK.

I don't really care what it says in the bios. Like I said the computer will boot with memory in either controller.

thank you !  Its a Bios related issue ive checked with F3g bios ,that gigabyte sent me but i dont recommend that bios due to its stability when overclocking .
