Is RAM voltage important?

Is RAM voltage important?
« on: September 23, 2013, 10:32:13 pm »
I'm building a new system and will probably use either the GA-H77M-D3H or GA-Z77X-UD3H.

I won't overclock and want 1600 RAM (I assume that's the fastest stock RAM without overclocking).

Does it matter if I get 1.5v or 1.65v sticks?

Thanks

It really doesn't matter because the MB will set the volts. All you have to do make sure that the speed is set right.

Once it boots go in the bios and just set the speed from 1333 to 1600 no XMP profile needed.

The bios won't auto-detect the speed?

No it will always detect it at 1333 by default no matter what you put in.
