I rebulit my PC about 8 months ago using a GA-Z77H-UP5 TH (revision 1) motherboard with BIOS version F11.
For cooling I used the Zalman CNPS20LQ. Everything worked fine and I enjoyed months of gaming through my Nvidia GTX 690.
Temps in the system were always normal to medium - never got that hot.
Then I went to work abroad for 3 months and when I returned and fired up the system, I noticed it getting sluggish and got some BSOD's so I checked the temps and found CPU up at 100c. Also, the CPU cooler pump seemed to be making some noises it hadn't been making before. I started to suspect maybe it had got some air in and wasn't circulating properly.
I decided to swith the pump for a Corsair H80i but after reassembling the system (no other parts changed) it now stops at LED code A6 during power up.
The sequence is that it goes through A2 (Detect and install all currently connected IDE devices), then to A9 (BIOS Setup is started), then to A6 (Detect and install all currently connected SCSI devices).
I don't have any SCSI devices attached.
Can anyone advise on what I might look for as a possible cause?
TIA,
Nick
