First of all, I've never had any problems and still don't have any, but I noticed the temperature and I'd to know what's up.
I've had this motherboard close to two years now and I've only just noticed the temperature of the MCH sensor when I was checking some temperatures in different software (HW Monitor, Realtemp, Easytune6). I either didn't pay any attention to it or the 70C just caught my eye.
I saw a temperature of 70C in HW Monitor which shocked me but after checking the BIOS and EasyTune6 it seems to be 45C in my BIOS after 1 hour and 50C idle in Windows 8. So I guess HW Monitor is off.
Is 50C Idle high? After searching Google I've read alot of different things which were all about the UD3R so I'm not sure, such as that the X58 chipset runs high.
I did those 3 tests in Prime95 and the maximum temp was 59C under load.
I ussually have my processor slightly overclocked with Smart6, it used to be @3.36 Ghz but since a month or so @ 3.60 Ghz. Right now it's set @3.36 Ghz. These settings actually end up to be higher though.
I've also tried the default @3.2 Ghz but makes no difference on the North Bridge temp, not sure if it should anyways.
By the way, my CPU temps are all low, 30-40 idle.

Processor: i7-960 @3.36
CPU Cooler: NH-U12P SE2
Mobo: Gigabyte X58A-OC
Memory: Kingston KHX1600C9D3K3/12GX (12GB)
Graphicscards: EVGA 1GB GTX 460 SC running in SLI
BIOS Version: F3.
