GA-X58A-UD7 (rev. 2.0) + AMD Firepro v7800 + OCZ Revodrive.

I have the hardware witch i describe in the subject. Until now i used to put the ati firepro in the first pcie x16 slot and the revodrive in the second pcie x16 slot. The firepro v7800 is a big card and its to close to the hybrid silent-pipe module. So for better air workflow i decided to put the revo drive in the first pcie x16 slot and the firepro in the second pcie x16 slot. Now i have more free space. But i think that the fan of my card spin faster in that slot. I m not really sure but that my feeling. Except of that i want to know if there is any performance issue to have the card in the second pcie x 16 slot and the revo drive in the first. With this way does the second pcie x16 slot works in x16 mode or is drops down because of revo drive in the first slot? If yes will the problem solved if i leave empty the first pcie x16 slot and put the revo in a pcie x8 slot. I prefer the card in the second pcie x16 slot because of better air workflow but i don't want performance issue. I have the option to leave empty the first pcie x16 slot if needed.
Thank you

Just make sure that you have the video card in the right x16 slot. there are 2 - x16 and 2 - x8 slots.

Does CCC pick it up so you can adjust the fan speed. Does the card get hotter in that slot vs the other one.

I don't know how your board is laid out. Mine x58 board is x16 - x8 - x16 - Pci - x8. If it is laid out the same.

Then the SSD will be in slot 1 and the video card in slot 3.

I don,t know what ccc is. my board also is  x16 - x8 - x16 - Pci - x8.  I put the revo in first slot witch is x16 and the graphic card in the third sot witch is also x16. But i don't know if its right. There is a note is the manual witch said
"for optimum performance , if only one pciex graphics card is to be installed be sure to install it in the pciex16_1slot. If you are installing two pcie cards its recommended that you install them in pciex16_1 and pciex16_2 slots.'
Also there is another note that said
"the pciex8_1 and pciex8_2 slots share bandwidth with the pciex16_1 and pciex_2 slots respectively. When pciex8_1 is populated with an expansion card the pciex16_1 slot will operate at up to x8 mode. When pciex8_2 is populated with an expansion card the pciex16_2 slot will operate at up to x8 mode"
So i am confused. If the pcie_16_1 slot does not share bandwidth with pciex_16_2 slot then why its recommended to put the card in the first slot? And  if the pciex16_1 share bandwidth with pciex8_1 slot and the same with pcie_16_2 and pciex8_2 then i must not place the revo and graphic card in a pair that share bandwidth.
Know i have put the expansion cards in this order
1 slot pciex16_1     revodrive
2 slot pciex8_1 expansion card with com port
3 slot pciex16_2 ati firepro v7800
4 slot pci   fax- modem expansion card
5 slot pciex8_2        empty
my motherboard has also two pciex1 slots before the 1 pciex16_1 slot witch are empty.
Are my cards in the correct order or should i change the order of revo and firepro?
i said again that i place the firepto in the third slot for better air workflow
thank you

CCC is Catalyst control center.

No matter what you do with your cards you are kind of screwed. The thing is does the computer still run without problems?

If you are not a gamer you should be fine. By what I read and what you read. No matter how you do it you lose bandwidth.

The only thing I see here is the com port card. There is USB adapters that are out there. That you can get to deal with com & serial ports.
