New windforce GTX 780 OC poor performance

Hi,

I have installed a new windforce GTX780 OC and performance is very poor, much worse than my old card 6950.

My main game is Battlefield 4 which i have set the video to medium but this still seems jerky. BF 3 is also running badly. I used Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode to remove the old drivers. I installed the latest drivers 331.82. So far very disappointed with the new card.

Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
PSU: Crosair 850Watt
CPU: Core i7 980x
Mobo: Asus  P6X58D-E
GPU: Gigabyte 780 OC

Any help to resolve this problem would be most appreciated.

GPU usage is less than 50% in BF4

I tried some older drivers which were even worse 327.23, 331.65

Any ideas

is the card a dud then?
