GA-Z87N-WIFI , My Wifi Dashboard shows nobody, network does...
« on: November 27, 2013, 07:30:08 am »
New to beautiful board!!!  "Network internet access" in task bar shows lots of folks out there if I left click on it.  but installed dashboard and it claims not to see any after refresh.  What am I doing wrong. Thanks!!!
EDIT: no icon for wifi share, found in gigabyte so put on desktop, icon appears in taskbar but says "disabled"  I have d/l and uninstall and installed several times.
EDIT: I think what we have here is a noob prob - when I put share in wifi mode, I get disabled, when I put it in file transfer, I get running and I can see my computer on my phone.  Didn't try to log in.  Was thinking this all allowed an internet like connection like one gets with the "Network internet access" in task bar and "Open network and sharing center" and connect to someone...  Or am I all wrong.

Is this a program that you installed from Gigabyte? Do you have the 5 little bars down in the right hand corner on the tool bar?

You don't need any programs to get on line with. Uninstall that program. Then just right click on the 5 little bars and open network and sharing center.

Then just click on one of the connection and connect. If you need a password than just put that in. If by any chance that the list doesn't come up.

Once network and sharing center is open than just click on the line where it says connect.

Hi and thanks for your reply.  These are programs that are on one of the 2 CDs that come with the mobo, but I have no idea what "wifi share" (gigabyte) and "my wifi dashboard" (Intel) do.

Yes, can probably uninstall them.

Is there an "airplane mode" to shut off the wifi modem?

Do you use the WIFI or connected with a internet cable? I would uninstall them.

If you are connected with a internet cable that will be you main connection. It will over ride the WIFI.
