What is a good 4770K Overclock?
« on: December 13, 2013, 11:18:16 am »
Hi guys i have recently upgraded/sideshifted to haswell from sandy bridge- E and was wondering what is a good haswell overclock? I have a gigabyte ga-z87x-ud4 motherboard which so far have been able to get to 4.5Ghz @1.25V with the ram at its rated speed of 2400Mhz. To get to 4.6Ghz i need a Vcore of 1.35V which seems kinda high,to get to 4.7Ghz i need a Vcore of 1.4V seems like a huge increase in volts for 200Mhz. Should i perhaps look for a better chip or stick with what i have? I would like to get to 4.8Ghz if possible. Also considering going to an open loop water cooled set up possibly Koolance EX2-1055 (Exos-2.5) thoughts? Currently Corsair H80i,would Koolance allow for bigger overclocks with this chip?

The best thing you can do is go over to the OC thread. This is just the base Intel thread.

Those guys over there could help you better. On the main page go down to this "Benching & Overclocking Events"

Plus I just upgraded my AMD machine to a AMD FX-9590 Vishera 4.7GHz Socket AM3+ That is stock speed too
