Gygabyte GA-870A-UD3 RAM SLOT PROBLEM
« on: December 12, 2013, 04:53:36 pm »
Hello,

RAM: DDR3 Corsair Vengeance 2x4 gb(NEW) & g.skill 2x2gb (brother´s ram)
Motherboard:GA-870A-UD3 rev 2.1
CPU: Athlon II x4 645
Ati radeon 6850

I have a GA-870A-UD3 rev 2.1 motherboard.

I Install 2 new rams in slots 1 and 3, everything worked fine.

Reading information about this motherboard if you used the 3-4 slots you managed to exceed the speed of 1866 (OC), so I put the RAMS in those slots, and checked that everything was still the same, because this was only for rev 2.0 mobo.

I disconnect the RAM memory on the motherboard and again placed in slots 1-3 and the computer does not display anything on the monitor.

Testing I found that if I connect one ram in either slots 1 or 2, the computer does not work!

I tried with other RAM and the same thing happens, these rams in another PC working properly.

I reset CMOS and still not working

Does anyone know what happened?

Post  ram timings and what ram speed you are using in other words are you  trying to run all at 1600 or 1833. Just need more info.

DDR3 Corsair Vengeance 2x4 gb(NEW)  doesnt tell me timings ram are rated for or what you are trying to run them at.

All the settings are in auto mode.

I try to set it in 1333 & 1600 and in auto mode.

stock DDR3 Corsair Vengeance 2x4 gb : 9-9-9-24, 1.5V

stock g-skilled (my brother´s) :8-8-8-24, 1.6V

Thank you.

I reinstalled the firmware F5 and still the problem.
