UK Warranty Period Motherboards / Out of Warranty Service
« on: December 12, 2013, 01:01:17 pm »
Does anyone know what the UK warranty period is for Gigabyte motherboards?
Mine is 2 and 1/2 years old and failed and possibly out of warranty.

Is there anywhere you can get a motherboard repaired when its out
of warranty?
Thanks in advance.

Most Mb are 3 yrs. I don't really know how Gigabyte works. Most MB companies will take a invoice from the date you bought it.

Here is a link to the support sites http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/technical-support.aspx

Gigabyte motherboards are actually guaranteed for 3 years from date of manufacture NOT from date of sale.

To check date of manufacture you will need to locate the serial number which is printed on a sticker that is normally attached to the side of the 24 pin ATX power socket on the motherboard or on a label attached to the original box if you still have that.

Sometimes, out of warranty repairs can be done but, of course, there would be costs involved and the best thing to do would be to contact Technical Support to see if they can help you.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

I'm here in the USA Gigabyte has to by laws here. They have to go by a date of sale.

The manufacturer’s warranty varies from region to region. Please check with your point of purchase for detailed warranty information. For warranty information in North American please check here . Be prepared to provide your proof of purchase, and in some cases, GIGABYTE will need to validate the SN for your region.
