Thanks for the replies. I ran passmark 8.0 and came up with a memory mark of 1354. All of the other benchmarks are similar to what AgentFXA posted. When I run passmark with my dell i660 (i3330, 12GB ddr3 12800) I get the following scores
memory mark = 2218
memory - database operations = 79.1
memory - read cached = 22622
memory - read uncached = 12904
memory - write = 9388
memory - available ram = 6260
memory - latency = 27.1
memory - threaded = 22726
I guess my question is my FX8320 setup has a memory rating about 40% lower than the Intel i5 computer. My overall system rating with the FX8320 is 2360 vs 3366 for the i3330 which is almost a 50% performance difference. Video cards and SSD drives I am using are similar in both systems. Am I missing something in the comparison? I would think RAM operating at the same speed would give similar results. I can understand a small difference but a 40% difference is huge. Why do I get lower performance from the AMD setup vs Intel? I was under the impression the FX processors would give similar performance to 3rd gen i5 processors.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
