problem with easytune6 on GA-78LMT-S2P, win 7 64
« on: January 06, 2014, 04:19:38 pm »
Had problems installing easytune6, but after help from this forum reinstalled original old 2011 version, then removed it  properly as per email, then installed new 2013 version downloaded from 'support', and it installed ok. It shows up as the latest 2013 version and appears to run ok, showing the bios settings.

However, when I run it and select the tuner tab, I get the frequency tab, but don't get the ratio and voltage tabs as shown in the help, so can't change these.

Anyone any ideas about why? GA-78LMT-S2P on win 7 64 sp1, with latest f4a bios

Any ideas? Anyone run it ok?

TIA

John

What is the model number of the CPU that is installed?
1) GA-Z97X-Gaming 7, G3258,
2) GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev. 1.1, FX-8350
3) GA-AM1M-S2P, Sempron 3850 Kabini

Not sure why the model matters - I guess easytune isn't accessing the voltage part of the bios data properly, or at all.
How does easytune get at bios data? Use a driver? Or access the memory directly?

Anyway fwiw, model fx 4100 quad black zambesi is shown by easytune6 family f, model 1 blah blah.Exactly same info is shown if I use the utilty cpuid.

BTW, I can see & change the voltage settings in the bios, v f4a. All the other tabs on easytune seem to work ok - eg I can alter the frequency as per help.

There is no problem using the FX-4100 on that motherboard model. You are okay there.

The Gigabyte Product page for the GA-78LMT-S2P (rev. 5.x) shows:
Unique Features
4.Support for EasyTune (Note 5)

(Note 5) Available functions in EasyTune may differ by motherboard model.

If your problem is that a function of the EasyTune software does not seem to be available, perhaps that is what Note 5 on the Product page refers to.
1) GA-Z97X-Gaming 7, G3258,
2) GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev. 1.1, FX-8350
3) GA-AM1M-S2P, Sempron 3850 Kabini

Thanks for your info, but it hasn't really advanced things. I still don't know why it is broken.

Pretty horrible - there can't be any good reason for it, the info is there in the bios! Can't see why it can't be flagged to giga & fixed - giga must still be working on easytune6 for similar m/bs.
