GA-H55M-S2 power up issues
« on: January 12, 2014, 04:36:22 pm »
Hey all,

I am facing this strange issue wherein, my computer starts and then goes off and the ON/OFF cycle continues. All fans spin for like 1-2 seconds, then off and the on again.

I have  a 'low-end' PSU, a local 450Watt. But I guess its not to be blamed as I used the same PSU on another board and it worked just fine. Tried switching on the PC without RAMs, AddOn cards, but all in vain.

Need your views on this. What wrong with my system ? Is the motherboard dead ?

Have you look at the CPU socket to make sure you don't have any bent pins.
X299X Aorus Master, i9-9940x-3.30Ghz, 64gb G-Skill DDR4-2400, MSI RTX-3070 8GB, Cooler Master case, Thermal-take PSU 850w, 1-M2-NMVe SSD-512gb, 3-Pny 1TB SSD, 2-WD Raptors 1TB, Win 10 pro 64bit, Asus 35" 144Mhz Monitor.

I had a similar problem with my motherboard running P55A chipset.

Turn off the power, unplug from electric socket. If you can get access to front
case on/off switch blow compressed air over it to remove dust/debris.
Then operate on/off switch about 50 times fast to clean contacts.

The BIOS setting for power management is set to instant off on Intel boards.
If you have contact bounce or contacts are sticking or contaminated this will
cause this.

Post back if it solves your problem.
