I have a new pc with a GIGABYTE B85M-D3H mobo, however the USB3 ports are not working as USB 3. I plugged my USB3 portable HDD into the rear port of my pc, which is the mobo USB3 port. I get a message popup "This device can perform faster if you connect to a superspeed usb 3 port". Same when I plug the drive into the front USB3 port on the case.
As a check I plugged in my USB3 card reader to the rear USB3 port on the pc and copied a large number of files to an SD card. This took 27 minutes. I then did the same by plugging the card reader into a USB2 port and copied the same files to the same SD card and it took 27 minutes. So this tells me the USB3 ports are working as USB2 ports.
OS is Windows 7. Anyone have any idea on what is wrong and how to fix?
