GA-Z87X-UD4H trouble with USB 3
« on: February 03, 2014, 02:49:54 am »
Hi there. Hoping for some help. I have a GA-Z87X-UD4H motherboard running Windows 7 Ultimate, SP1. Every time I put a USB 3 device into any of the USB 3 ports, I get a message from Windows stating that I'm not using a USB 3 device. I attempted to uninstall the Intel eXtensible host driver but it just hangs. I've tried reinstalling the driver from the website and I get a black screen and I'm forced to hard reboot. Can anyone provide some advice?

I greatly appreciate your reply. I followed the link that you sent and tried changing XHCI  mode to auto as well as enabled. Unfortunately I still get the USB 2 warning for both, and I am unable to uninstall or reinstall the driver. Just to clarify, when I attempt to install, I either get a black screen or a bsod with mini dump file, and when I try to uninstall it, it just sits but doesn't do anything. I've tried stopping all intel services with no luck. Any thoughts?

I went to newegg to check out the reviews and there is nobody having problems with the USB ports on this board.

The only other thing is try to update the bios to see if that will help. Other than that you could try Gigabyte support or who you got it from.
