Aaah yes, the dreaded Z77 chipset. Then yes, it's likely you have the same issue we all have here.
/comfort

It's really unacceptable we still have no official comment from a community rep, even something generic like "we're investigating the issue". They treat us like they're just... ignoring the issue.

I seem to be having issues as well, possibly due to the Z77 chipset. I have a Sabertooth Z77 which I bought alongside my Windforce for a new PC build in early August, and have had quite a few problems. First off, the computer crashed and the GPU fans went at 100% when it had to render any games that I had on high settings. That seemed to fix itself after I reseated the GPU again.

Now, I regularly (once a day normally) have the screen lose output and have to restart it. On occasion when I'm in the desktop I hear a notification sound just as the screen goes back but obviously can't read it. Normally I can restart and its fine, but there was at least one occasion when the computer wouldn't work for a week. Its happened again today and restarting isn't working anymore either.

Is this the same problem that others have been having? Considering how random this issue is it would be nice to at least know what is causing it. Contacted Gigabyte TS hoping that they are able to give me an answer, fingers crossed.

Hello!

I've bought a new PC with this video card half a week ago. It has been working fine for about 2 or 3 days, I also played games. But now with 50% possibility when I start my computer the display enters power safe mode and the only way out is a reset. It also happens when I'm playing something. Bytheway, my motherboard's socket isn't Z77. It is H77.
Here is my computer:
motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H
video card: Gigabyte GV-N670WF2-2GD 2048mb ret
psu: Thermaltake TR2 Power 500W TR-500P
OS: Microsoft WIndows 7

I've tried to:
Install older NVidia drivers
Update motherboard's BIOS
, but nothing helps.

I haven't updated VBIOS because I haven't found any BIOS updates for my GTX670 with 2 coolers. There are only updates for GTX670 with 3 coolers.
I haven't switched PCIE slots to 2gen mode as I haven't found how to do it in BIOS.

Is there any use trying to solve the problem or my video card is broken?

Thanks!

Updated:
I've just got a restart while playing. After that PC restarted and made 1 beep(as usual while starting up) and 8 beeps. As I understand, it was a Display memory R/W error.

99% of the freezing issues only affects Z77 and Z68 chipsets. You don't have them so you don't have the freezing. We are still waiting for a word, a single word, from GB. Just let us know if this is going to be fixed. Just say "Guys, we can't figure out where the problem lies so if you want to use our card you have to replace your motherboard with a compatible one." or "Ok we know about the problem and we are working on a bios upgrade"
Instead, they just ignore their customers and act like we are all whiners, hallucinating about freezes and glitches. At this point, I surely won't be a returning customer.

I think it's shocking that this has never been officially recognised as an issue.

I had been running 2 of these in SLI format since June 2012.  When I decided to take one of the cards out and run my system single GPU, the problem reared it's ugly head (which makes sense as in SLI the PCIE lanes run at x8).

Changing the NB PCIE config in the BIOS to GEN2 (2.0) fixed the issue.

I'm currently in discussions with the retailer I bought the card from as, to put it bluntly, I want it replaced with a different brand of card and I won't by purchasing Gigabyte products in the future.

As no one has written up any information on this apart from in forums, I decided to write a short blog posts on the issue and frustration it posed to me.

I had this issue when I first purchased the card. Sent it back to dealer for RMA and after many arguments and two months they'd sent it to Gigabyte and it when it finally got to me it worked. However, almost a year later it has started doing the same thing again :(

I'd really like to know officially what the problem is!

Was this ever fixed?! I can't believe this was not yet replied with a solution until now. There is already an F5, F13, and F21 BIOS that was released for this card but did it fix the problem? I have a 2500K CPU now but will probably upgrade to an Ivy Bridge/Haswell in the future to enable the PCIe 3.0 mode of my P8Z68-V/GEN3 board but I'm worried that this issue might happen. I have two Gigabyte GTX 670's in SLI.
