GA-B75-TN where's my Kingston V300, 120 Gb ssd ?
« on: February 27, 2014, 10:15:20 pm »
Hello all,

I have a small HTPC with includes:
  • Intel I3
  • 4 Gb Crucial ram module
  • 120 Gb, V300NOW KingstonSSD

The ssd is connected to the SATA-0 port, and i have choose AHCI.
The drive is sometimes not recognized in the bios.
It can run for ceveral day's and then suddenly there is no ssd, and i only can enter biossetup
At this time iam complete on "Ground Zero" and the mobo only give me the biosscreen.

The ssd have the latest firmware.
The mobo is original, cause the F2 seems only fix some audio issues.

Can anyone help ?
Thx !

Try changing the sata cable to one that doesn't have a clip on it. Some times you think you have it connected right. But some SSD you can't get the cable in all the way.
X299X Aorus Master, i9-9940x-3.30Ghz, 64gb G-Skill DDR4-2400, MSI RTX-3070 8GB, Cooler Master case, Thermal-take PSU 850w, 1-M2-NMVe SSD-512gb, 3-Pny 1TB SSD, 2-WD Raptors 1TB, Win 10 pro 64bit, Asus 35" 144Mhz Monitor.

Thx for the advice.

I've checked the cable, and it fits nice.
Another strange thing happen.
When i plug in a USB stick with OpenElec, the display freeses at point where you make a choice of installing or do a live session with OpenElec.

At the moment, i managed to get Windows on the ssd, with the IDE setting in the BIOS.
Let's see what happen.

 :-\

Nothing happend, cause after some hours the drive disapeared again.

But finaly i got it work....!!!

The ssd was connected to the SATA-0, a 6 Gb./ sec port.
I connected it to SATA-1 wich is a 3 Gb. / sec, and now i see my SSD. Also, i can install Linux OS from a stick.
Why SATA-0 won't see my drive, i don't know ?!?
