G1 Sniper- External HDD won't hot plug
« on: March 22, 2014, 10:27:22 pm »
Changed mobo from GA P35 to G1 Sniper. Now I can't switch on external drive after boot and have Windows recognise it.
The drive is an ext sata. (Another external drive which is usb, will hot switch on)
Very annoying - go to do backup, and have to power off, switch on HDD and reboot for the drive to show up.
Can't find hot plugging in GUI for bios setup so far.
Thanks for any help

You went from a old Legacy board to a new UEFI board. You will have to change it to boot legacy. What you are looking for is in the Bios Features.

In there you can change it to what device you want to boot from. Once you change it save and exit and reboot.

Hard Drive BBS Priorities

Specifies the boot order for a specific device type, such as hard drives, optical drives, floppy disk drives,
and devices that support Boot from LAN function, etc. Press <Enter> on this item to enter the submenu that
presents the devices of the same type that are connected. This item is present only if at least one device
for this type is installed.
