GA P67A-UD3-B3 F9 to UEFI problem
« on: March 16, 2014, 04:31:13 pm »
Hello,
I've trying to update my bios to uefi. I have downloaded the right version for my motherboard from gigabytes webpage.
Tried both @bios and flash(while booting).

But I get this error everytime. Even for the older versions (u1a) of the uefi bios).

The error I get:
The series number of the new BIOS is not correct!

Am I missing a point here ?

Thanks.

Hi there,

to go from the Award BIOS to the AMI EFI BIOS, you need to use the flash tool provided in the download from Gigabyte and then flash through DOS. You also need to create a bootable USB pendrive to use the EFI Flash tool. Check here: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,7410.msg70474.html#msg70474 as it may help.

Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

I would do some research on this before you jump into this. Read this thread http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,13818.0.html

I know this isn't the same board but you could run into some problem after you do the update to UEFI bios.
