How To Find BIOS Version

How To Find BIOS Version
« on: April 07, 2014, 07:28:36 pm »
I've read that the AMD A-10-7850 Visheri CPU needs the F5c BIOS version on the GA-F2A88x-UD4 mobo to work.
How can you tell the BIOS version if the PC won't post?
 ???

download the trial version of Aida64 Extreme, you'll get bios version in the Motherboard/Bios section Ignore, if your not getting past the post then you won't be running anything else  ::)

I purchased this motherboard (GA-F2A88X-UP4, rev. 3) and had the seller (MicroCenter) install the AMD A-10-7850K CPU, 8GB RAM and post the board.
Everything went well and I returned home to complete the build of my new pc. The BIOS on the board was version F4.
I installed all of the drivers on the mgf. disk after installing Win 7 Pro 64 bit OS.  One problem I had was none of the USB 3 ports worked.
After digging around I found the new USB 3.0 driver on Gigabyte's website (mb_driver_usb_fm2-plus_exe) downloaded and installed it.
Now all of the USB 3.0 ports function.
My system is up and running with Win XP virtulization as well.

Which, as already stated, is only good if the board will post.

Having said this, if the board will post, it will show you then what the bios version is
Nothing to see here, move along....

Yes it does show you that when you first boot. But only after you have change it to the bios info screen from the MB logo screen. It doesn't show you that info on the MB logo screen.

Yes, cos it is so hard pressing Tab or Escape to see the info...
