Endless reboot loop of a ga-g41m combo mobo after post
« on: July 12, 2014, 05:13:31 pm »
Hi everyone. First of all I would like you to apologize me if I make any mistake (I'm not an english speaking person).
So I have this problem with this ga g41m combo motherboard that I've bought recently and that keeps on rebooting enlessly (after POST though)
It reboots a few seconds after the spash screen of the motherboard (which desplays only the CPU model and the RAM test). Besides the mouse and the keyboard turn on and off at approximately the same moment of the POST sound and because of that I can't access the BIOS
I've made a video so you can see what it looks like : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TrCSgQyD4U
I've been trying a number of things that didn't work to solve this out like booting with the bare minimum plugged in (power, CPU, ram stick) and clear the CMOS. I could also try two different CPUs that I own (Core 2 duo e7300 2.66 Ghz and an Intel Pentium 4 3 Ghz) aswell as two identicals PSUs that I own (antec earthwatts green 380w). I couldn't test out other ram sticks because I don't have more ram sticks compatible with this mobo. I bought my ram ram sticks there :
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/2GB-2x1GB-DDR2-667-PC2-5300-Non-ECC-Unbuffered-Desktop-PC-Memory-RAM-240-pin-/231264351297?pt=UK_Computing_ComputerComponents_MemoryRAM_JN&hash=item35d86df441. I bought the exact same as these ones but 2gb not 1gb.
If someone could help me that would be really kind. I've been struggling with this problem for a while now.
Thanks In advance.

First your pent. 4 wont work on that board I am going by the CPU support list and that ram isn't on the list either. I would go to the memory support list and get some off of that. Is there any beeps and if so how many and short or long?

If you've watched the video with sound you should have heard a beep for the POST.
