I have the GA-X58A-UD3R V2 FH motherboard with i7 920. (windows 8.1)
Running AHCI with 256GB Samsung 840 Pro.
I'm concerned with the outdated drivers. One or more of this motherboard's device chips firmware or drivers are outdated.
Although I have yet to confirm how the USB 2.0 ports are functioning, I just recently did a fresh install of windows 8.1 to possibly address the high latency and ISR counts (viewed with latencymon). The reason I decided to do a clean install with Windows 8.1 was due to the outdated drivers posted in device manager. Well, it appears they are still dated 2006. The same thing with the ATA port driver. Is this due the South Bridge Intel ICH10R chip?
If so, can someone please help me determine where I can get the lastest driver and/or firmware to address these outdated drivers. I've seen others mention their 2.0 drivers are newer than what I'm seeing here. I've been on this issue for a while- just trying to squeeze the last bit from this older motherboard. thanks, Steve
